From Tuesday 17 th March midday, France is on lockdown in a bid to contain the COVID-19 virus.
French Mortgage Direct, as a non-essential company, has closed its offices to protect our workers and clients from potential exposure.

During the lockdown France will come to a standstill with banks, notaries, estate agents, insurers and other professions related to the real estate industry working from home where possible, but in most instances (for banks and insurance providers notably) this is not an option due to security and staff also have to provide care for children whilst the schools are closed. As such, some banks have already stopped accepting new mortgage applications during this time whilst others anticipate long delays. Currently it is impossible to predict how long an application will take or even how it will be dealt with due to the number of parties involved and the uncertainty of the present situation.
One thing the French government has made clear is that no-one will be penalized and we will assist you in providing guidance on how to request an extension to your mortgage clause, or other advice relating to the purchase, during this time.
